Henna night (Shab e Khina), which occurs subsequent to the engagement party, is an event steeped in history and mythology. During this ritual, the bride's family symbolically transfers her to the groom's family. This tradition, originating from Turkey, has been perpetuated in numerous regions worldwide over the course of several generations. The bride and groom are expected to wear traditional Afghan attire. Henna Night is primarily a celebration for women and girls, and the bride's hands are typically adorned with henna. The henna application is traditionally performed by maiden girls from the groom's family.Henna is believed to originate from paradise and is thought to bring good luck and blessings to the married couple.During the event, it is customary for the bride to close her hands, and the mother of the groom attempts to open them. If the mother of the groom is unable to open the bride's hands, she is expected to bestow an expensive gift upon her, such as a gold coin or ring.

The leftover Henna is distributed among unmarried young girls. It is believed that those who manage to obtain and apply Henna to their pinkie fingers will be married in the near future. While Henna Night is one of the most prominent wedding traditions, it has undergone significant changes over time. Currently, it is commonly recognized as a bachelorette party, with the participation of the groom and his friends being a common occurrence.
